Business Development Representative

This is a permanent, full time position to start June 1, 2018. Pay will be base salary plus incentives.

As a member of our Sales Team, you will be required to prospect for new business, book meetings and on occasion attend meetings with Account Managers. Reporting to the Manager of Marketing and Business Development, the successful candidate will be self-driven with the maturity to work independently and the confidence to successfully present our service offerings to perspective clients.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Engage with senior-level executives to proactively schedule and confirm sales meetings through cold-calling and lead generation campaigns
  • Make an average of 60 outbound sales calls (dials) per day to perspective customers to generate curiosity in our various lines of business and qualify prospects through the use of consultative, value-based selling methods
  • Achieve 10 new meetings weekly, documenting all activities into CRM tool for lead follow-up, sales cycle disposition, pipeline management, forecasting and lost opportunity tracking to keep comprehensive and accurate notes in the system
  • Acquire leads through prospecting lists in assigned territories, outbound marketing/lead campaigns and incoming web and phone inquiries
  • Secure appointments with qualified leads for the designated Account Managers
  • Partner with Sales Executives and Account Managers to create customized plans for assigned territories to support sales cycle success and to drive urgency
  • Gather business intelligence on companies, leads and qualified prospects
  • Assist Marketing Manager with events by driving new prospect attendees through cold calling and online email automation tools
  • Assist Marketing Manager with event preparation and setup as needed
  • Attend new account meetings when required by the Account Manager


  • Post-secondary degree in IT or Business
  • At least 1 year in a previous cold calling/lead generation role
  • Technical aptitude and good understanding of IT security solutions
  • Exceptional ability to establish credibility with senior-level executives
  • Effective time management skills and ability to work well under pressure
  • Excellent organization, multitasking and prioritization skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated initiative and resourcefulness
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills with Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Experience using CRM and Marketing automation tools an asset
